There is lots to do when our Marketing season is over. Putting the fields in order for the winter and being as ready as possible for next season is our main concern after all crops are harvested. Here we are applying a thick straw mulch over the strawberries to help them through the freeze and thaw of the winter months.
Autumn and winter months are also when we find time to renew fire wood supplies and do any renovations and building. We always have more ideas than time so the winter seems much too short most years.
Winter is also a good time to spend time
with family and friends, gather around the fire and go for a skate
on the pond.
We plan, we prepare, we wait.......... and then......

This is Late April. Growth is just begining. It will be two more months of growing and waiting before we taste those first juicy Berries !
